Devon Wilson. 'Impressions of London'
Devon produces works, mainly of city-scapes that are realised using a quasi-impressionistic look and feel.
The works on display are taken from a series of paintings entitled 'Impressions of London' and all depict various morning and evening views of the river Thames, Westminster Bridge and the Houses of Parliament.
The images endeavour to capture the mood of the river and its backdrop using a fluid and diffuse style to evoke a sense of calm and tranquillity. This timeless ambience is emphasised in many of the images through the use of misty atmospheric technique and through lighting effects to mimic the transient glow often seen on the Thames at various points in the day, particularly morning and evening.
